Lemme guess.. you had issues with the timing?
I was obsessed with the mv. The sequencer was what did it for me. But after messing with the 5k for a couple of days... my love for the mv vanished.
The 5k is very intuitive and is not a bulky cash register like the 4k. I dont see how people can hate on it.
The only issue I ever had with it was trying to get my motif and 5k to communicate with each other correctly.
But SCD and Zuckwheat addressed that viewtopic.php?f=29&t=106831
The basic problems with the MV sequencer are;
-terminology for functions is somewhat inconsistent with sequencers in general
-sequencer has enhanced functions that cause you to have to do workarounds to get your desired results
It can be a good sequencer but basically requires too much work to be what most people are after.
Works a lot easier if you are dropping audio chunks instead of sequencing.
It's a similar scenario to people preferring the slimline 5k interface to the deep rooted 4k interface.
Roland made the MV sequencer more complicated than it needed to be.
Unit still has some incredible aspects if you are willing to go the distance.
