I can't see how anybody can blame Akai. If you insert your memory wrong, that is all your doing. I read the same directions/disclaimers as everyone else. I didn't find the directions confusing or the installation difficult.

Don't think it has anything to do with the instructions other than not paying attention to them. Most RAM won't really let you install it wrong because it won't seat in unless it is aligned. It's a matter of not paying attention to align the RAM and assuming that you put it in right be cause it went in. The price of the 5k should make you take the extra few seconds to pay close attention to what you are doing.

"Most RAM won't really let you install it wrong because it won't seat in unless it is aligned. "

The Akai RAM is propriety RAM designed for the MPC - maybe if they had designed it better then this might not happen ..

Or is that too much to expect ?

"The price of the 5k should make you take the extra few seconds to pay close attention to what you are doing."

You think nobody that has had this problem bothers reading the instructions ?

I found the 5K RAM upgrade even easier than the 1000 and 2500 RAM upgrades!

As long as you read the installation instructions properly BEFORE you attempt it.
