A new mpc 5000 costs new 25000,- norwegian..Thats about 3730,- us dollars.......' 1800 - 2500 USD on ebay?

fcuk is wrong with people????????

Still would go with the Xl instead from what I read... compared to 2000..

o yeah it has a 32mb memory but no zipdrive.. But on the other hand I see some MPC 1000's foor around 450 euro..

Damn.. wish i was rich..

By the way The mpc 1000 has time stretching right? cause i read (the quote underneath) on http://www.mpc-tutor.com/tutorial/1/chopping-samples-on-the-akai-mpc2000xl/ that is doesnt?

Time stretching has its limitations, especially when trying to increase sample length - samples can start to sound metallic, but generally, this feature is a really useful addition to the MPC arsenal (although strangely dropped form the MPC1000).

I had the 2000 before I traded someone for my 2500(he mustve been stupid) but dont buy a 2000 when you can go out and buy a 1000 for around the same price.

The functions on the 2000 are limited & it has no tilt screen and theres no JJOS. Its up to you but I would suggest a 2000XL or a 1000
