MIDI Synching with MPC 2000 XL and Triton Le..

I have been working with the mpc and triton for several months and just started looking into using them together with midi. The guy at guitar center told me that it is possible for me to have a drum track already recorded on the mpc, and to add my overlay effects with the triton using midi. Eventually allowing me to transfer everything through a usb device with midi to my computer for the final edit of the track. I need a little help with the initial setup, can anyone help? A response is greatly appreciated.

You go from midi out on the triton to midi in on your mpc,midi in on your mpc to midi out on your triton.Remember midi only transfers data and not sound.Then you can do your final mix down on your mixer or whatever software that you have.I can't remember the format you save it as but i know somwone else here knows that answer....Peace.

.........By the way you can use the other midi out to connect directly to your mixer if it has a midi input.

Dude. He's right. For months, I was confused because I had a DJ mixer....but the mixer is the key. I struggled forever before I realized what everyone was talking about. lol.

If you don't have a mixer yet.....do a search...they have forums on it all the time. See which one is good for you.

if you want the mpc to be the main sequencer, you go midi out of the mpc into midi in of the triton and back.

I use a Roland VS840Ex that i bought off ebay for a good price.It's actually very complex because it is a digital mixer and the manual is thicker than a bible but if you have the time it's a good investment or you can always go with a conventional mixer.It's completely up to you.Just make sure it's not a Dj mixer,right Golden?
