Things Akai Should Have Done With The 2500...

I love the 2500. Akai def. added some great features to it that come in handy.

I don't know why Akai doesn't borrow some features from other samplers that were ahead of their time tho.

They should have let you go to the Trim screen while the sequence is playing and adjust the Trim and Tuning in that window, without stopping your sequence. That's why I always liked the Ensoniq Keyboards like the ASR-10, you can chop and tune a sample while your sequence is playing. that's a great feature for being creative. sometimes you stumble into some weird chops that way.

and letting you Tune a whole Program at once would have been nice.

Also. They should have made it where you can audition your samples from your built in hard drive while your sequence is playing. That would have been a great feature.

With those three things, this sampler would have been crazy. Hopefully Akai talks to some producers before they come up with the MPC 6000.

I've been on the 2500 alot and just learning its ins and outs is cool. it def. holds its own in the MPC family.

Do yourself a favour and get the JJos. Most of your problems will be solved...

with the Akai OS 1.23 you can go into the Trim screen, but it messes up the sequence playing and to Tune the sample you have to stop sequence and hit Window button.

1. Don't know about Akai's OS, but in JJOS1, you can do this. You can trim and audition samples in the trim screen all while the sequence is playing. You just can't zoom in on the wav or make actual chops and edits. But just being able to at least trim is great.

2. Another JJ feature. Get on it. This was one of the main reasons I bought the 2500. You save so much time with this feature compared to doing it separately for each sound like in the XL.

3. Yeah, this would be great so you can find fitting drums without loading a bunch on shyt!

Every thing that the jj'osxl they have had from the begining.


They just need to have the whole JJ team working for them period!

They should have gone with the blacked-out pads, buttons, knobs and sliders, too. Gangsta.
