no sh!t, didn't try yet, but seems simply genius, Thanks a lot :D

That's another proof that one can do with it more than it was designed to.
I really don't like "solo" functions which you cannot incorporate with another, like closed door, when they supposed to be open to make a way

yeah sure no probs,

whats nice too is that through all this, u can be on 'next seq' page n see the seq's all being run through.

or in main screen u can still use the Qlinks on any active track, and tweak it while any seq's running.

it makes sense sometimes to use just one program in all the seqs, i did that just earlier to quickly set up n check how i used to do it back then, so i just set up one program (with MONO playback for ultra mantronix edits), recorded loads of parts into each seq, that way theres a sense of consistency despite the madness.

recording out to a DAW or sequencer is the only way to capture the results in a recording that ive managed, so far.

its just a shame that 'immediate start' doesnt do it, that would be awesome for loud smashups, i'll try figure a way around that, im almost sure i did get that going in the early OS1/2 days.

Maan, trackmute looks like a floor at some real disko, neat trick haha
I just loaded a project and had most of all sounds to mono, but I'm getting the idea.
One day I was wondering about recording scenes and only way I imagined and did was
copying all sounds actually USED ina sequence to 1 program, copying notes to 1track and triger sequences from trackmute, the thing is I didn't have to do that because I could've just played them like that

Now where's SS trackmute page :?: :P

Now where's SS trackmute page

yeah i thought it'd be cool to have a button to switch between the main sequence and the Sseq , bpm readout in trackmute screen would be nice too.

I noticed a bug with sseq and trackmutes a while back that i reported but need to check:Note on samples on sseq track 1 were cut short if the main scequence track 1 was muted.

so a SSeq trackmute? would that be like where u could choose from the seq's that u want to be the 2nd seq = like instead of the value input on the main screen?

ah edit, sorry i get u now, im forgetting that there are all those tracks to be dealt with in the SSeq too. ive been very one track minded - literally - where this exercise is concerned.

this method, its a great way to lay out a set of seqs into a mad arrangement...without any thought for the consequences, its working really good here, probably cos ive used only my favourite seqs to throw around.

Bugfix wrote:Using your method I would program empty SS only with pc1 on track1 pc2 on track2.. every 1/32 or so and record sequence changes using trackmute of SS.

thats smart, yep, so if i get u right:

u would set up loads of tracks, one PC per track, then record some mutes in there, then deploy it as the SSeq ?

and the resolution of the PC's could be a problem, i mean throughput of PC's every 1/32 might be a bit heavy, but i see why u would want that smooth response. i would restrict it to 1/16 or 1/8 if it was me, but thats because i like blocky stuff, but i have to admit, i was stuffing them in at various points very close, to see the speed at which it can handle things, and it was fine, even on those rapid bursts.

exactly, you think it won't be faux pas to ask jj?

"and the resolution of the PC's could be a problem"

tru true.. 1/8 a bit earlier than the beat goes would be just fine

JJ might or might not be interested, theyre very involved in their thing - as they may not see it as the worthy addition you do, but its always worth mentioning a useful method you've found that needs a touch more functionality.

why not ask 'em for a SSeq mute page, or u could even ask for the track mute page to have a dedicated Fkey to flip to SSeq tracks/normal seq tracks added, say "shift" then the F6 changes to [SSeq] etc..

(it worked for example - when i asked for a method of switching the 'active track' during track mute operations - they could do it - and it didnt take long to be introduced - and they improved on the idea too!).

in a way though' you've pretty much nailed it anyway. i mean, you just need to get the sequences u want, then get the SS sequence and 'act out' (*all be it 'silently' - with no actual triggering going on, yet) the mute sequence u need....then switch that seq into the role of the SSeq, and you're away.

* but i see that its still working blind/deaf to some extent, JJ may clear that up.

was worth a try eh?

it would be nice to have each track keep the settings from the qlinks. for example if you use the tune and then move to the next track it automatically removes it. I think it would tight to have each individual track keeps the settings assigned to it. no biggy but would like that added... And I could do without the chord ard arpegiator function....

just my .02

but friend, - it does keep the settings, qlinks are allocated to programs in OS2 anyway.

so if u have on track 1 / prog'x' with 'qlink=tune', and on track 2 / prog'y' with 'qlink=sstart', the act of moving to (active) track from 1 to 2 will have the sliders doing the appropriate qlink effect for that program in that particular track.

hey before we diss this guy we should think back to before the JJ OS was made. We couldnt do much, JJ came along and changed that... now we acting spoiled. Be fair man... give the guy a break...

man for some reason I have lets say a LPF on track 1 and then move on to track 2 and the LPF is no longer there you hear track 1 as if the filter was never applied... will post a video soon. im going to reinstall the OS again might be my MPC that has that issue... Which in all truth I been having some weird shit occur with JJ OS2XL... Will reinstall and try it out... thanks for the reply though Arebee... Will keep you posted..
