Live Audio Looping

Sorry for my influx of threads here, but I just keep running across problems that haven't been addressed in the owners manual. I wanted to know if the MPC-500 could act as a looper, but for things you record via microphone in real time? Essentially, is there a way to make it like a loopstation? The only way I've figured it out, is to record the part audio track, but then when you are prompted to save the sample, the loop stops, so you have to play it all over again. Is there any way to make the loop continuous and just keep adding audio after audio track in real time?

So what you're asking is, if the 500 can record a sample, loop it and play it, then record a new sample while the previous sample is still playing, and so on to create layers in real time?

No, but that would be a dope idea to have in the 500. You have to record everything 1st in it, then work with them later.

I think what KT Turnstall (?) does with her guitar and loopstation is fukin awesome.... + she has a nice rack as well

KT Tunstall uses Akai... the Akai Head-Rush pedal. I use one in my pedal board, and it's awesome.

You can loop a maximum of 35.6 secs - but each overdub you make will eat into this. Everything is controlled from foot-switches, and even has a tap tempo feature for the delay / echo function.
