Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I just read that you cannot plug your turntables directly into your MPC(for some) without a mixer. Now does this go for plugging your turntable into the asr-10 and then into the MPC?

The sound coming from a turntable is not very big, so you need to amplify the sound before hooking it up. If you just hook it up straight from the turntable to the back of the -insert name of sampler here- you get a really weak signal.

I don't think the asr has an amplifier so.. No, it won't work! You have to hook it up through a dj mixer or a phono amplifier.

Some turntables have the amplifier installed tho, those you can hook up straight to the sampler!

Most dj mixers have the phono amp built inside so just connect the outs of themixer to the record ins. Its good cause I get to eq it before I sampkle.
