CD TEAC HELP

seems to be working fine without any adjustments. crazy. what about burning cd's? anyone successfully doing this? if so, how do you do it? thx again and sorry for being an impatient pain in the ass.

HI, I recently bought my mpc2500 and wanted it complete with a DVD/CD-RW drive. I had a HP DVD +- RW drive in the studio. I changed the front cover remove pin 47 and it work perfectly reading files and playing audio cds. However it dont burn. I am using JJOS 3.09. The exact model of the drive is DS-8A1P 03C

yeah mine burns. you do it the same why you save anything else.. just choose cd and highlight what u wanna save and hit do it.
then when you are done, you can close the disc(finalize)


Also for everyone else..
I yanked a Panasonic drive(dont have the model number handy) from a fairly old dell inspiron laptop. Removed the dell casing, popped off the 47th pin and tried it out. Worked like a champ! loads, and burns just like the cd-m25 that came in my 2500. no problems. So obviously while select drive work and some others do not, its clear that more than just the TEAC drives will work.


We should compile a list of drives that have been tried and confirmed working. Although tests would need to be done per user to confirm loading from, sampling from and burning to, per drive.

Good idea. Anyone used any other drives than the Teac and specific models listed?

Don't know if it was listed already but I just installed a Sony CRX880A, pulled pin 47 like posted above, and it works. Reads, but doesn't write.

Just installed the Teac Dw224e mentioned above. Works perfectly (reads and writes).

No Pin mod for me, just plugged it in and it worked. I DO have a HD installed.

I have got a TEAC CD Drive today and it's not working in my mpc5000, how to fix it? where is the pin #47 you all talking about?

Before you do so, install it and see if you can do without first. Some models are already in slave mode from the factory. You only need to do this mod if you are using a hard disk.

I just did the mod myself, I'd suggest using a sewing pin and nudging at it until it's bent down, then using a piece of tape to keep it covered from touching any other pins. I only have one problem:



No bezel. I mean it works and it's usable so I'm happy, even if the MP's guts are hanging out a little bit. I found a site selling just the bezel for $12 + shipping but I'm not sure I wanna drop that yet.

This is a nice option. Slot load rather than tray. Confirmed working with the pin mod. No disc tray pops out = no accidental breakage. Very nice. $36 shipped from Centrix.com

The mod worked thanks guys i used a Teac DW 224E-R - CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo drive - IDE drive but when i tried to save a sequence to a cd-r it wont let me what am i doing wrong?

you can't save a sequence to a CD... you can only burn a WAV file as an audio track.

so how do i convert my sequence into wave

you can resample in jjos like this:

in the RECORD screen, change input to main out, hit record (F5) and then hit play on your sequence... should do the trick.

i have the free jjos 3.09 is there a better one that has the same features plus more?

i like JJOS1... but unfortunately now for the mpc2500 [unlike the mpc1000], you have to buy all the JJOS versions even if you just want to use JJOS1... and it isn't cheap. i've never used the free version myself so i can't really speak on it...
