Would appreciate a little help from those who have changed their display from green to blue.
Since I have decided to hold on to at least one of my 1k's and working on the blue 5k screen does feel nice, i am going to order one from MPCStuff for the 1k.
Couple of questions
-How arkward is it looking at the blue display if you don't change the button led's from green to blue?
-OS2 and XL do retain the contrast setting once you have adjusted them?
-Has anyone had a blue display that later became unstable?
-How quickly did MPCStuff ship your order if you have purchased from them?
-If you didn't get your display from MPCStuff, then who did you order from?

Thanks for the info

yeah cool, this talk reminds me of the very rare ASR10 keyboards that had different screens altogether from the original, i remember turning up in switzerland - hiring one, and like flipping out when i opened the case.

ive been eyeing up the blue screens and while were on the subject - i see black case/side panels for sale in the US, but shippings almost twice the units cost, anyone know of european distributors of 1k Mods/ spares?

Yo playa,

I got the blue screen but had to change it out because it became unstable. I got my joint from neeleworkz.com. Getting in-touch wit dude to see what is up has been difficult. Homie ain't answering emails.

Maybe it was a bad first batch, but I'm not happy having a hunnet dollor screen sitting out of my machine. Its at your own risk

The white ones homie talked about earlier is real hot. I'd take that, but again, dude at needlez ain't taking calls.

It's true, that the Needlewerk dude isn't great with emails. You can find his phone number on his website though. It actually took me a few tries to get through, but I did talk to him and he was cool.

Well I now have a screen and LED's coming so the 1k's gonna be a little more easy on the brain strain.
I agree that finding that white one would have been nice but the blue still has a functional purpose to it.
I'm also gonna change all 12 LED's to blue including the UNDO, I just think it will give it a more balanced feel.

jackymurda thanks for the heads up I didn't know that NeedleWerk had the LEDs.

Can someone explain why a blue display is easier on the eyes? I do agree that it looks sexier or whatever.

I'd say, it's because the wave length of blue light in contrast to green light differs. During human evolution - which I still believe in - :) humans maybe the human eyes or better the reception of light adapted better to the blue light, than the green, although I think the difference is marginal.

green is actually the color the human eyeball is the most sensitive to. why do you think they make infra red scopes readout green?

the factory screen is led lit. they are smd's and are definitely changeable. anybody here ever seen an xbox360 with blue lights in the ring, or in the controller? same exact style smd led's in there.
