Chopping takes AGES! HELP

Whenever I slice a sample in ChopShop it takes forever to do, usually I'm waiting minutes on end, even if I'm only slicing into 2 parts. it does it when im using BOTH equal or auto chops.
Im using a black MPC1000 that came with 128MB RAM installed and the AKAI OS 2.12. I dont have anything saved to internal memory other than the akai samples that come with the MPC.

Any help would be much appreciated

Try the JJos 3.08, its free and better than Akai. then purchase the latest JJOS. At the top of the MPC forum page is a comparison thread that will guide you to the Download and such.

how long is your sample? if its a 2 part chop just do it manually... And from experience when I was using the Akai OS, I use to manually chop my samples instead of autochop because for some reason never had the same feel. But, that could just be me... Give that JJ a try and see what suits you better.

I had the same problem akai wont tell you this when you download the 2.12 version the chopshop is slow.
You can upgrade it to a jj os are I can send you the older version
but it wont have auto chop.

I chop with Audacity... IT is visually ezier to chop in that then it is in the MPC 1K so I use that and then only dump what I need into the MPC.

don't use auto chop? sorry for not answering your question, but what's wrong with chopping it yourself

Get the JJOS.... I assume you are new to this, so start with JJOS 3.08 (Free).....

i was thinking bout useing that i mean choping on mpc sucks takes foever toget the markers right

Give it a shot. And there are quite a few vids on Youtube...
