Andy did his thang with the MPC 5000 to show catz a fraction of what the 5K can do.....

But being the picky kind of guy I am...the MPC 60 wasn't created 15 years ago. The MPC 3000 was created about 15 years ago. The MPC 60 was created about 22 years ago. Long Live Akai MPCs! :P

Agreed. It's a cool beat but what about the hard disk recording, track muting, next sequence, Q links (midi CCs to external gear), direct recording and mixing, miltitimbral mode, the arp, mixer automation. Once again it's being used like a glorified 2500. We see what you can do but what can IT do?

All I seem to have noticed him doing was to record a sequence...

I personally thought the beat was trash.... the lazer stabs were annoying (and i use lazer stabs in my music so I actually like them typically) .. and the baseline, kind of cheesy.

Sounded fun to make though, I just am not a fan of the part where you gotta listen to the finished piece.

Akai should scoop up our forum member "mpc3500" to do videos like that.

untill that day comes what? yeah he did his thing... but untill that day comes then what?

I dont like the song's style, I gave my opinion about it since that is what this thread is for... even your "cover song" you posted in the the callout thread i prefered over that (the one with the pianos)

once I get the URL's for my videos from the person who makes them for me... I will post them, but untill then... what? you didn't finish your sentence.

I thought I was pretty clear.....

Sorry if you are offended..but I am the type of guy that if I read someone hating on another...I will ask that person to show and prove what they can do with the same machine. So until that day comes..... :P

doesn't matter, i wasn't showing hate.. i was showing my distaste for the beat he was making. I simply listed a few parts of the track that I disliked for the purpose of explaining why I am not a fan of the track...

When someone posts a video of a beat done on the 5k, we dont all gotta dick ride the track unless we have a video of us making a better track...

and if you didn't grasp it, i wasn't disliking the track because of the machine it was made on... I was disliking the style of the track period.... then I stated a name of one of our known mpc-forum members who makes tracks on the 5k that I really like a lot (that was intended so nobody would think I was trying to diss the 5k, but your defensiveness was expected)

and no, it wasn't clear at all.. why dont you finish your sentence, untill then what?

What you probably didn't grasp was that Andy Mac was just quickly trying to recreate Keisha Cole's track in two minutes using the 5K. It is a product demo and has nothing to do with dick riding or his skills as a musician. I am ok with you calling me defensive. In spite of all that...I am still waiting for you to show us what you can do with your MPC 5000. Until then.......

And I used this thread for it's purpose... to give our opinions of the video. Why dont you use this thread for it's purpose too instead of trying to protect the 5k... i never dissed the 5k, i only stated that I wasn't a fan of the track so get over it.

since when is it a rule that you must post a video using the same machine before commenting? you can wait and wait and wait... glad to have a fan who's that inpatient, thanks man. I'll let you know when the next album is released, I accept paypal.

So what is the purpose of threads again? You gave your opinion..and I made comments about your opinions. I can't see where you can interpret my comments as 'protecting' the 5K. You said you didn't like him re-creating a commericial song...I replied you should show us how it should be done. Either you will or your won't. So let us hear what you can do with your MPC 5000 and I will send you a few bucks via Pay Pal if I find it tasteful.
