IS IT BAD TO LEAVE MPC ON...ALOT!

I SWEAR MY MPC IS ON MORE THAN IT IS OFF. IS THAT BAD???

i leave mine on for hours n hours n hours n it aint hurt it. They do heat up a bit n the lcd screen does fade when it starts getting a bit hot but then i just switch it off for a lttle while to cool down and its all good again.

IN THE SUMMER WHEN ITS REALLY HOT I PUT A FAN ON IT.. ITS HASNT FRIED YET. I JUST LIKE TO LEAVE IT ON SO I CAN COME BACK TO IT WHENEVER THROUGHOUT THE DAY TO WORK ON SOMTHING. ITS A PAIN IN THE ACE TO LOAD ALL MY SAMPLES ONCE I TURN IT OFF, IF IM IN THE MIDDLE OF A PROJECT.

hasn't hurt mine so far. can't imagine it's that bad.
could age the screen and capacitors. but i imagine the effect on the capacitors is pretty neglible.
what else is in there, ram?

I HAD A PROBLEM ONCE WHERE I COULDNT LOAD OR SAVE ANYTHING, I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED CUZ I LEFT IT ON THRU THE DEAD HEAT OF SUMMER. I ENDED UP TAKING THE BOTTOM COVER OFF AND PUTTING IT BACK ON. THAT FIXED IT, BUT STILL A LITTLE WORRIED

Switching it on and off all the time will probably cause more damage to your mpc then leaving it on.
The only risk might be overheating, but there are a lot of ways to keep the mp cool.

I have my 1k on a laptop stand with holes and grooves in the stand plate for ventilation. So my mpc always gets warm, but never gets hot.

main problem with leaving them on is screen failure...but as posted above,its much worse to turn off/on all day!!!

As long as it doesn't say xbox 360 on it, you should be fine. I leave mine on sometimes for hours and havent had an issue, a fan like another post said is use a fan if its already warm in your area.

Back in the day we used to leave computing devices on because turning them on/off throughout the day would decrease the life expectancy of the power supplies. But that hasn't been the case now for many years. I can't imagine turning your MPC on/on several times a day will cause any problems. Plus it's the smart thing to do from an energy usage standpoint.

seriously, i have had the mpc powered on for more than two weeks straight and theres no probs whatsoever.
turning it on/of several times a day surely cause more damage to the internal components, particularly the harddrive if you got one installed

i leave my comp on for months,i just turn off the screen every night.

How do you clear up the memory in the MPC without turning it on/off? Been trying to figure this out?
