Problem with tuning of loaded samples in JJOS2 v1.22

Hi,
I have recently started using JJos2 v1.44 on my mpc 1000. I'm having a
problem where when I load samples into memory the mpc tunes them
all up an octave.

When I go to the 'Sample List' page it shows all the samples tuned to
+12.00. When the 'tune' setting in 'Sample List' is set to 0.00 the
samples playback corrrectly.

How to keep the mpc from automatically tuning the samples up.

I have searched in the on-line manual and the previous posts
and have not seen any references to this problem.

Well... The sample files that cause this problem, where exactly did they come from?

That question should lead you to the answer. Sample tuning data can be saved with the sample, and will usually work across different machines/platforms.

Thanks for the reply. The samples I have been using come from
all over (CDs, the internet, ..). But I have been using a program
on OSX called 'Switch' to convert the samples to 16bit 44khz before
loading them on the mpc. Maybe something strange is going on
during the conversion.

Can you recommend another program
for converting samples on OSX.

I don't ever use a Mac... can you run Sony Sound Forge on that? It works great for me. You could also just edit the pitch settings in the MPC as you use them, and then save/overwrite the files.

I don't think there is a mac version of sound forge but maybe something
like bias peak will work, or just resave them on mpc as I use them as
you suggested.

try MpcPgmMaker, or Pad187, i think the former's lots better, it can convert long lists of files, aiff>wav, rename or renumber them etc, pretty simply.....and it was designed to create MPC programs etc. BUT ITS NOT AN AUDIO EDITOR. but the quickest renamer/converter i use for the mpc work.

i run switch to convert my mp3s to wav and ive never even heard of this problems

Thanks for all the program suggestions. I will try some of them out and see
if it solves my weird tuning issue.

Could it be that autoload is on and it is loading a program with each pad tuned up? Another possibility.
