Noobish I know

Whats up? Got a nooby question that I need some quick help with. TIA. Finally got myself a 1000. Thought it had the new pads since its Bk model with the black back panel but I'm pretty sure they are the old design They seem really stiff, unsensitive, and I get lots of double hits, etc. Anyways, I want to install the new Akai OS (and eventually JJ) and erase everything this kid did to it. I basically just want my MPC to be like it's new out of the box, nothing saved, nothing changed, and the new OS on it. I have tried to figure this out but I'm coming up short. Sorry for the longish post. Peace.

If it crashes or locks up, you must power it off and on again. If you just want to clear some memory space, use the Clear On Load function, which clears all programs and samples (where most of the memory goes): Load something small, but hit Clear before hitting Do It. This method doesn’t remove Sequences and Songs from memory.

Clear the MPC1000 memory of all Programs, Purge Samples, delete all Sequences and Songs; or restart it without any Autoload and delete the blank default Program01;
Set up any default project-level settings you want, e.g for FX.
Save with the Save Entire Memory option, giving a suitable name, to a folder on the CF card.
This save two files: ALL_SEQS&SONGS.ALL, and a PRJ file linking to it. Load the PRJ file explicity to clear all memory. “Load All Files” will not do it, you must point at the PRJ file itself.
Or use this one: TabulaRasa.zip . Unzip to a folder on your CF card, and load TabulaRasa.PRJ explicitly when you want a “clean slate”.

an easier way would be to just erase all the song and seq data. then erase all the kits loaded. then purge all unused samples. then save entire mem to internal. when you start it back up it will load what is in the internal memory. which is nothing. then install the updated os.
