MPC5000 = Alesis Fusion

Is it any cheaper to buy the alesis fusion branded ram opposed to the 5k branded ram? cause the 5k ram is **** expensive for just a stick of ram

good idea, i thought the same cause the fusions ram is at a discount....

i been doing fine but been working on a remix, and recorded the acaapella into the memory and done about a quater of the remix and getting on to running out of memory

have you noticed any sequencer drifts?

i have testet a 2bar drumloop with a (internal)synth loop, alot of fx (cpu about 50%) and so far i am very satisfied! ...seems that's a swiss knife

yes, i have experienced the mv8000, mpc1000, mpc2000xl, logic 5.4 gold, cubase 4.1 ...and let me tell you, ...i am more than 100% convinced that this is the tightest midi machine ever made.

...people always talk about how something like cubase is the best for midi, ..i say B.S., because if i had both hooked up, ..and i had a trillion dollar budget, ...i would make it work so that all software and hardware sound modules and synths would use the midi sequencer on the mpc 5000 because i sincerely believe that it is simply the tightest midi sequencer ever made on planet earth, ....in my humble opinion.

im still living life with a faulty harddrive, its now dissapeared altogether! will get it fixed, just i got music to make at the moment

I will assume you have the latest OS installed. With that said..if the hard drive is faulty. I would just put in a new one (although doing it yourself will probably void your warranty).

This is not a good solution if you're in the working process and haven't finished your ideas yet. Especially for remixes you need to hold most parts flexible in the RAM until you have found the best arrangement.

not enough ram to finish your project: buy some
faulty HD: get it fixed (send it in for repair if still under warranty)

The best solution is to work within the limitations of the machine. You can't exceed 192 MBs of memory. So you must delete files or record your ideas to the hard disk tracks. If this is not acceptable..then you are using the wrong machine for your needs.
