What do you mean patch samples? If you mean "stack" then yes. You can trigger two or three pads simultaneously in the MPC.

no, i was talking about "patch phrasing", but i just found out that the bpm match function does it on the xl.
at least i think it does...

I think he means timestretch. xl doesnt have patch phrase like 2500.

can you not match the bpm in the timestretch menu?

"Patch Phrase" on the 2500/1000 does not stretch the sample. It only cuts it into pieces and adjusts how fast these pieces are played after each other. Different approach than timestretching, but it's more or less realtime-capable.
