500 is lonely (but maybe not for long)

Hey thanks everyone. I'm really glad I posted now because I've learned a lot from the suggestions as well as the fact that I'm not totally alone working out workflow. Thanks again!

And agreed about the void all sounds feature. Just more time unnecessarily wasted to dump every one singly in the edit function (although I'm getting faster at it )

lol.. don't do it that way.. just load a program without the sounds.. it will load all the paramers of the program except the sounds and then you can just load your samples from a folder or sample or however you're gonna bring your sounds in.. get it?

Yeah that sounds easier, I'll give it a try.
How do you get it to boot up without it sticking the internal sounds into memory?


Edit: Okay, I see what you mean.

In fact you can actually clear the onboard sample memory that way for some bass ackwards reason also:

Mode, load, program, enter, clear memory, yes, enter, enter.

(whats it doing in the load screen? )

Not exactly intuitive, its gonna take me a sec to get that down smooth, but it does get the job done!

I just looked up that xr20, I didn't even realize that it was an akai.
Your gonna have a lot easier time sticking those together through midi than I'm gonna have!

It does look like a funner/more easy going machine.
I like the big screen and the button lights.

I think i know what your suffering from.

I myself own a 1000 so i might be of but usualy what iv learned from the pros is that, you make the instruments one day .. cut the sample match percusions to it.. and then another day when your fresh you attack the beat. I know pete rock those this alot.

I spend days just listening to samples, i spent days just making programs its all about time management, you should never force yourself to make a beat after your ears are tired and not fresh..

I love wakeing up in the morning with a sample already programed along with a percuison program set so i can just wake and bake and jump right in the fun part :

I spend three hours a day traveling by public transportation. Then it would be nice if I could still get my 500 out of my backpack and start banging.
I can not live without my 1k, but together with the 500 I would be able to play all day.
