**EDIT KNOWN BUG**

Not sure if this is a known bug: Hitting mode + program introduces latency when playing pads in program edit mode. The latency/delay disappears when returning to main mode. I tried reinstalling 1.02 and initializing the 5k. A reboot seems to correct the issue but it soon returns after loading 40mb +/- of samples.

5k with memory expansion and cd/dvd drive.

Just came across this:
After creating a patched phrase, according to the manual p100, one should be able to set the original tempo of this phrase to a certain value. This parameter is not present on the page that pops up...

Just got my 5k about 1 month ago, its been working great until now. It froze on me once, and now everytime i make changes to a sequence, another sequence becomes littered with extra pad hits i did not record, messing up the song/sequnce. anybody get this?

I really hope akai can help with the 5k cuz right now im super dissapointed that i dropped over a grand and this thing.

after loading programs from the HD without samples, it's no longer possible to reload those programs with their appropriate samples. Only thing that helps is a system reset (power off/on).

if a same sample is used in 2 or more programs, when saving entire memory to HD, the saving process is interrupted as soon as the second identical sample is saved. In this way the state of the machine cannot be saved "as is" and not reloaded "as was".
The 5k should ask to overwrite the existing sample and not abort the saving process.

It should be possible to put the 5k in it's default state without powering off/on+erase.
Clearing memory before loading a saved "entire memory"-set does not always reset the machine in a "neutral" state.
Sometimes mixer-settings are not reset, as well as effects settings.
Maybe it should be possible to save and load these settings independently. Now "everything" seems to be compressed in the so-called project file (prj).

BUG:

Samples not saving correctly - please read below.

Record straight to MPC input from my computer audio out playing soft synths and what not. Everything is fine while editing in trim mode. I construct the song. Save entire memory and save the programs with samples. All of the sequences are still playing fine at this point.

Turn off MPC
Turn on MPC
Load folder

Enter trim mode: All of the samples start points are at the end of the sample. Turn the dial once and they revert to the beginning of the sample. ???

I retract my last bug report about the "saving sample" issue.

I found out that I cannot just save entire memory and expect everything to save, atleast on my machine. I must save all programs and samples and all songs and sequences in order to save samples properly.

Save Entire Memory to a folder saves everything. Reloading the folder will load everything within that folder.
