I found one for a really good price. BUT... It does not load the OS and gets a 040 error? Just curious if anyone has one and if this problem is easy to fix...I know this is the MPC forums..I figured some of you dudes have an ASR 10....

Thanx

Format disk.

Try command systemmidi, then set device to SCSI 5 or 6.

If you have the SCSI on the correct setting, and your formatted correctly, there should be no issues

Sorry but since someone already has a ASR thread opened, and the question has been answered i have a quick question myself.

I have a ASR on its way, being shipped to me, that does not come with an OS disk. My friend has a ASR as well, can i use his ASR to make a OS disk for me? IE: load the OS disk in his machine, then put a new floppy in, and copy the OS to the new floppy?

My machine has SCSI installed, now if its working properly, and his is working, could i copy his OS floppy to a ZIP disk, and use it to load on mine?

Or am i stuck buying a OS disk from Ebay or something
