keyboards with nice bass sounds

i'm looking to cop a keyboard just for bass sounds...can anyone recommend anything preferably cheap?

Casio CZ3000 if you can find one......basses ARE DEEP.....

I'm the Kawai K5000S freak here, so that's a good one IMHO.

I've heard Brian Eno do some really freaky bass things with an original Yamaha DX7, on his solo work (Nerve Net etc.), and in producing bands like U2 and James (e.g. I Know What I'm Here For). Very sampleable.

DX Basses are really dope though. Yall can cop a DX 100 for cheap and do it, but programming it is a **** and the other sounds are kinda rank.

Pick up the original Nord Lead.... now those things are bass phatt..... and its pretty and red...
Alternativly if you can find one an old Roland Juno 106, i got of of those dustin' up on the shelf that I should grab down and fire up....

I just sold my NL2 to cop the NL3 but I got scammed by some dude on ebay.... got my cash back(6 months l8r still nordleadless) and now im thinking of going for the motif es.. not exactly cheap but im loving the sounds & keys feel

Pick up an Ahmad Jamal record (or any other jazz record with lots of b solos), look for an open bass, sample it, turn the res way down on your mpc, hit the 16 levels, set to note off, and youll have a bass that will kill any rom.

this will cost you maybe $5 tops.

nah wouldn't believe that...

are you talking pre-sets? vcos any VA will be programmble and you will be able to achieve nice bases out of it....ditto romplers, dx and other types of syntheseis...its all about getting your hands dirty and not wiorrying about the machines stock sounds...

What's cheap also depends on where you are too. In Euroland, you might find a Novation BassStation for real cheap, while you might never see one in Uh-Merika. I'm thinking about an Alesis Micron (the baby Ion, when it arrives) as my "analog" keyboard, but it will cost me a bomb here.

(Irish prices suck so badly that I can jump on a plane to London, stay in a decent hotel, buy some gear, and still come back with spare change - compared to buying locally.)

Yeah its that bad here in australia, I got loan a little while back and considered flying to us to get my gear. I figured id get something extra if I stayed here and bought from ebay..
Heres an example.
The Australian Retail price for the MPC4k is $6,995 AUD (approx $5k US)
The aus retail for the DPS24 is $11,000 ($9k us) and I got it off ebay for $4000 australian...

its just bullsht, but noone here even knows how cheap everything is and they just pay the money...... what a scam.

Im thinking about selling gear to all the peeps here who pay thru the a$$ @ all the big australian music shops

@everybody, you need hard multisampled basses for your MPC, everything you can think of plucked, fngered, super resonated, deep 808s, 808 mixed with deep plucks, hit me up. I got self made basses, tweaked basses from the Triton Motif and MS2000, plus more, for the price you cant beat it. dont spend a grand for a board with a couple of basses, for $20.00 youll get all the basses you ever need. hit the pm!

Novation has b-stock A-Stations for sale online at £169.00 / €236.60 , but the only ship to UK and BeNeLux- not to Ireland.

e-bay... stuff for sale in the UK, they hit you with shipping costs to Ireland. Nah, it's genuinely easier to jump on RyanAir for €0.99 each way (+ €30 taxes), and hit London via Luton. I bought my Kawai K5000S from a guy in Stirling in Scotland, wrapped it up v. tight, and put it through as "Fragile" luggage.
