Well, after almost 3 months, I finally got my from DVD drive and EXM128 from Akai today. I love the sample straight from CD feature.

I never really found any reason why anyone would want a DVD drive.... :-\
Why spend 300$ when you can rip the CD to your computer and transfer via CF card?
Or are you using it to burn(is that possible) your beats...

i think the only time i ever used my cd drive was the first day i installed it and when i took my mp on vacation i was using it to sample.....

It was free! If you bought a 2500 between sometime in November and December 29, 2008, you got free RAM and DVD upgrade. Otherwise, I would have only bought the RAM.

That's sort of what I'm using it for right now. My wife booked a room in AC for the weekend, but I don't like to gamble. She does. So I bought the laptop with Pro Tools and my Mbox Micro and the 2500. So I am using the drive to make a joint right now! She's still at the poker table!
