to tell u the truth though, the mpc has a really sexy groove, if u learn how to manipulate the functions. me personally would rather take the time and tap everything without quantization. the only the im gonna have to get used to, is doing hats with full level off. that can be frustrating.
but like i said b4, it all depends on the track ur making. for old school boombap tracks i like 16(3) quantization. for soul, and bounce tracks i usually 16(3) the snare, and then everything else isnt quantized. i dont really think using quantize is like having training wheels IMO, i think its like using gps when u already know ur destination. u get there faster and on time, but u dont get to really explore and find alternate routes, u know what i mean?
