Whats up freeze. I think i remember you from rs7000.org back in the day. Your detailed post on the rs7k vs mpc1k is what 1st got me interested in looking at the mpc. What ever happened to your rs7k? I see your still rockin that rm1x.

I don't see a computer in that setup...... I used micronizer on the mac myself.

MicronAU is good too, been messing with it tonight, possibly better than Micronizer. Join the yahoo group for it, there are loads of patches to download there and links to patch editors etc.

The RS got sold (too cumbersome with my limited space availability, it had to be the RS or the Vestax, couldn't have both. I was surprised at how well it sold by the way. I keep the Rm1x, but it is not fully functional anymore, for instance it can't remember patches and edits if you don't save them to diskette (they used to be stored in onboard memory). A minor issue at this point. The Rm1x is still midied to my rack sampler.

How u like the c414? Is it the XLII? I rent it last week and to my ears the XLII is a little too bright. There's is a boost in the frequency response between 5 and 15khz. I'll rent a audio technica 4050 this week and choose between those two.
I also tried a u87 and a violet with c12 head, but just for fun because there are not in the price range that I want to pay.

I have the s20 since 1998, I don't sample with it anymore, actually a few of the control buttons are even dead. But I have 10 years worth of diskettes with samples that I just load in the unit and control it with the MPC. It still has a good sound.

Freezerman, love the studio. I still have all the tracks you gave me. I still like. How have you been?

Nah, this is the C214. It's like a stripped down 414. The only real difference they say is the polar patter, the fact that the 214 only has one capsule and only picks up sound from the from, while the 414 has 3 and picks up from any direction. It's a great mic, to me; especially compared to what I upgraded from (perception 220). But I have never really used any high end mics, so I can't campare to anything. I actually went in to buy the AT4047 and the guy sold me this instead!
