many manufacturers just treated end-users as the beta-testers in the recent yrs.
i bought yammy aw4416 yrs b4,crashed and data missing, sound drop-outs,just like what u all experienced on mpc1k now.then i returned it and get another one, just the same.
so i think today's many electronic musical instruments which involved heavily on modern computer technology(but the cheap one u know),are mostly very buggy.
emu command station is another example.
i used mpc2k b4 on a project(but not owned one)and it sounds good and very user-friendly.recently i wanna buy the mpc1k cuz the features it stated is very attractive.i tried one in japan music store when it first came out and i travelled there.its buggy as hell and the drum loops just played randomly out of control,i asked the salesman how to manage or control,he tried an hr but failed and told me its a bug on the seq section, not on the sampling side.then i tried a displayed item at local store recently, the feeling is quite good, timing is tight, sounds ok and no more random playing on this trial.then i go out asking cf card price at pc shops, and wanna order the exm128(i don't know the normal 144pin/pc133-cl3/4x32module/128mb ram can also be used b4 i read this forum, but, actually is it proved?),and wanna buy the 1k.but unfortunately(or luckily?)the salesman said its sold out.
just known akai released v1.05 but many said it just fixed the mono sample noises only.
maybe i just need to buy a s/h 2kxlzip instead,if i really need the mpc.
and sorry,deity13,i don't agree w/ ur point and feel ur talking good words for non-responsible manufacturer like an akai salesman.
i think end-users should have the rights to complain if the products are not the same as what the manufacturers advertised.
