The others like the trigger finger, MPD's, and the such dont have a dedicated piece of software, is intended for use w/ many other software and people have to set them up on their own.
...
the only thing that i see thats so "SPECIAL" about Maschine is that it offers screens to display the data and some other little features and THATS IT.
Other than being the first ever hardware to:
- offer Korg Electribe style hardware step sequencer
umm.. no.
first of all, it's not a piece of hardware. it's software... and fruity loops offers "korg electribe" sequencing and has been since probably before korg electribes came out (not sure when they launched but anyways)
and if it were hardware... then korg electribe style sequencing was done before..... on the korg electribe.
again, I am not saying it is not a good piece of kit... hell I damn well want this product and I plan on getting it as soon as I have a few bills to blow on something of this sort.
it has a lot of cool features packed into one collection but it is not gonna replace hardware in most cases just as it wont replace most software in most cases....
i mean in a sense an mpc is very similar since they are both running some form of software, but the difference is that an mpc's software has a 100% dedicated machine to run it.
Again, I am a native instruments fan (well not a fan.. but I do like their products)
