Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hello. So I have been reading around here for a bit and this is my first post. I just got an MPC500 the other day. I'm moving over from reason to hardware. I did a search on the forums and couldn't find anything. and of course read the manual. sorry if its a repost.

so here's my problem.

I have a 2 Bar sample. Basically just a drum loop I sampled off a record. Its roughly 132BPM which I got using a tap tempo.
But what I want is to slow it down to 105BPM and have the 2 bars loop.

So I set my sequence to 2 bars then went to the time stretch within trim mode. Set my original BPM of 132 and my new one to 105.

Now theoretically I should be able to set my sequences tempo to 105 (my new stretched temp) and lay down the sample on the down beat and it should loop yeah? Well its a little off and I was wondering what I can do to get it looping better. I want to match it with another sample which will be at 105 as well.

So what am i doing wrong? is my stretching method correct or is there another way?
Sorry if that didn't make much sense.

Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me out!

I usually tap in a BPM then I let the metronome click play on top of the loop. I adjust the pitch or the BPM until it's lined up on the clicks; I alter the BPM first because I don't want to mess up the key of the original sample. You just have to do some fine tuning. You're never going to get perfection out of the tap tempo button really.

The stretch is only going to be accurate if the BPM variables you're using are accurate. Best way to do it is to get it lined up on the clicks, see what BPM you're at, and then stretch it to what you want.

ok this is the real way to do it !!!

press mode . then hit the trim pad
press the down arrow . scroll over to edit
then press the right arrow
scroll over to stretch
press do it
its gonna say original tempo .. put it in
then scroll over 1 time and put in the new tempo
then press do it ..

simple .. let me know if u get that

Make sure that you loop point is as accurate as you can get it. If it is even a 128th note out (you might not even hear it) the beat will shift after X number of loops, and will sound messy.

As for the stretching methods... Bedouin seems to have it down.
