Let me explain...
Still playing around with pattern mode on JJ OS 2 (and don't regret downgrading from 2 XL).
What I'd like to know is if there is any way to insert sounds by sample rather than just by chop.
Currently my workflow is to combine a snare, kick, hi hats etc into one sample and chop them up to use in a pattern. Fine.
The problem starts of course when I try to make another pattern for the bassline. I have several programs that use a mix of 2-3 bass samples combined with the tuning parameter to get a full bass instrument.
But I cannot see a way of using this program in a pattern, even though it would be perfect for it. The only way I see would be to combine the three samples in a sample and chop those up (not so bad) but then of course I cannot use the TUNE parameter as I have the parameter set to CHOP.
And of course - using the TUNE parameter instead would only work if I used the one sound (as opposed to the 3 or more).
So essentially - if anyone has any ideas on how to use pattern mode to get a bassline down quickly I'd appreciate hearing them.
Thanks
Mark
p.s. In program mode I can see the 'CHOP' parameter and was wondering if there is any sort of way I could auto-assign chops to a program, so that pad 1's sample was chop 1, pad 2 chop 2 etc. But not having to go in and manually do the chopping
