How exactly do you create fast down south style drum fills on the
MPC 2000xl without actually just playing them on the pads. I've tried everything and searched many forum topics and watched many tutorials and cant find out exactly how to do this. Please Help!!!!

Say your working at 74bpm (just example)

turn the tempo down by half then program your fill in (faster than the new set tempo) once you're down turn your tempo back to 74 and there ya go

this works if you can't play fast

Here's how I do it
set quantize to 1/8(3)
press record + play all
hold note repeat
press the pad with the sound you want to repeat when you want it to repeat(the one with the 808 snare)
press stop
in main screen press F1
using the goto and < > buttons go through some of them snares randomly and delete a couple
in main screen press shift and the button by your NV slider
hit the snare pad again
set the range to +120 at the top and 0 at the bottom
go back to main screen
press the button by your nv slider to make it light up
press overdub + play all
move the slider from the top to the bottom
hit stop
hit play all
