ADSR Sample program

What does the ADSR sample program do for the MPC 1000?

modifies the dynamics of your triggered sounds/samples in the mpc.

...by giving you the ability to alter the attack, decay, sustain and release. just like on a synth. it's a simple, but very versatile tool.

Do I need a certain JJ OS to use it?

At least OS2.

For audio ADSR changes the volume level.
For filter ADSR changes the filter settings level.

Is it necessary to layer my drum sounds with the ADSR? Don't have the loot to buy the passwords for JJ OS2/JJ OS2XL. Will JJ OS1 do the job, I know it doesn't come with the ADSR program but will it do good enough to layer my drums?

yeah, layering and ADSR are two distinct things.
you can still alter the attack and decay in OS1, that's what i run. same as you -- no money.

Don't worry AD is enough for very short sounds like drums.

ADSR gives alot more control than just Atack and decay, you can really shape the sound with alot more creative freedom, its really good when using anything with Note-On.
