It lets me tighten up my live playing as much or as little I like and gels multiple tracks of data together whilst staying as loose/organic-sounding and as close to my live playing as I want. I double tempo too.
The quantize doesn't work live!
Funny.
Just like every other quantise setting in every other OS, it quantises your live hits as you record, but also whilst adhering to the strength setting.
Regardless, I meant my live hits recorded without quantise turned on.
I record with quantise off.
I tighten it up with quantise strength.
I record with quantise strength set low.
I tweak quantise strength.
I record with quantise strength set mid.
I tweak quantise strength.
I record with quantise strength set strong.
I tweak quantise strength.
There are many options

hehe... it's not rocket science.. it's the same as using normal quantise except you have a strength setting too. The strength setting determines how much your hits are pulled towards the absolute quantised value.
It is very easy to hear the difference as you make the strength setting stronger and stronger. You can hear your hits getting tighter and tighter.
Quantise strength isn't elusive at all - it's obvious what it does when you test it out.
Fire up any software sequencer and try out Iterative Quantize for yourself. Fire up OS2XL and try out Quantise Strength for yourself.
It's def my thing in a big way but it sounds like it aint your thing at all... That's fine.
