^^ - I wasn't trying to be funny as such.

Just find it perplexing that you would buy something that has doesn't have a feature that you obviously want on it. But as Blue Haze points out you don't need sliders - plenty of knobs on there for tweaking etc.

Anyway - I remain perplexed at this point.

This is a funny thread. I will say that maschine is f***ing dope and I dont see how anyone can say it sucks or isnt worthy. I bought 1 when it came out. I had it for 2 weeks and then sold it. Selling it is 1 of my biggest music equipment regrets. I sold because I had a ton of bills and thought why not just use my mpc 2000xl .I have been wanting to buy maschine again ever since.

Back then it didnt have nowhere near as many features as it does now. I didnt read the manual,I just went in and had fun. I have never been good at sampling and I dont use my mpc 2000xl anymore. So I thought the maschine might be cool and better for me at the time. I was correct.

After 15 minutes I was making beats on it and it was very easy and fun. I didnt even have to really look at my monitor. I could imagine that I would be sick with it by now. The new features are crazy and it seems that NI listens to their customers and are constantly improving maschine which is cool.

I love my mpc 2000xl and I will never sell it,but the maschine> Mpc 2000xl imo

yeah man, you are absolutely right about maschine being powerful. But knowing how much you liked the maschine... would you start raiding these forums promoting the shit out of maschine and trying to persuade new comers to get it and what not? Just because you recognize the potential of the maschine, would that make you act like a salesmen... pitching the shit out of it? lmao... that is the shit people are getting pissed off about.

but that empty sea vs askia shit is funny. it's like an xbox 360 fanboy and a ps3 fanboy arguing over the same game for which console it is better on.

I've used both JJ OS 1 & 2. What you're talking about is a useless feature since you can't even use it while the sequence is playing and you can't resample while using it.

Askia Shaheed wrote:Method 3: This is done in PROGRAM MODE. You can hit any pad and quickly dial in the pitch change for an immediate response.

Again, I'm talking about changing the pitch of any sample immediately without going to any window beforehand. MPC still has to go to another window before you can make changes.

Dude...for real. Can you please stop lying. You really don't have any credibility as an MPC user.

1. Your own words clearly say that the MPC can not change pitch in real time. Now you are trying to say that you meant that you have to go through a cumbersome process of going to another MPC menu to do it. In Maschine, you have to hold down a pad and turn a knob to change the pitch. In the same amount of time, you hit the mode button and a pad to go into program mode (while the sequencing is still playing). Then you can quickly change the pitch of any sample on the fly. This is as easy or easier to do on the MPC.

2. You again put your foot in your mouth. You have very little experience with the MPC and even less with the JJ OS. You say you can't use the real time pitch shift on incoming audio and re-sample? Damn..I do this everyday. I guess I have that uber-JJ OS then. Again, if you want me to show you how its done, just ask. Or go read the JJ OS manual to show you how to sample when using the real time pitch shift (that Maschine doesn't have). Here is a hint...hit the record button on the transport. Bingo! Furthermore, the function was designed for us crate diggers.....hook a turntable or audio source to the MPC, change the pitch in real time, and sample. I don't personally need it when the sequencer is playing. But if that is something you want, I am not knocking it. Give the feedback to NI or JJ to make it happen in the product of your choice.

The only way to "demo" it is to play with one in real life, like at Guitar Center. You won't get what it's about at all from downloading the software only as a demo. NI's official videos give you a pretty good idea though if you haven't watched them already.

Lol I just figured that out like an hour ago because of the controller. I'm going to peep it out at GC next time I go with in the next few weeks.

So, Triplecrossed, you said you were going to "peep it out and see what it's about" before you became the anti-Maschine fanboy. Did you peep it out? Or are you just hating on it because most of the kids in the playground are poo-pooing it?

We are royally fu(ked.

& yes emptysea I did mess with it, a friend of mind actually had it... it was okay. I kept my mpc though :).

NI is a German Company. Maschine is the German spelling of machine.

This thread no longer has a point though. Now it's stooped to the level of adolescent nipple pinching, petty flinging of textual poop and regurgitated arguments. Maybe now it's reaching the point of needing to be locked. All in before the lock!

Hopes to see condemning gold letters soon.

Dude, it took you that long and that's all you could come up with? You're slipping Askia. Tsk tsk... I expected so much more from you.

Feel free to find the post where I "clearly say that the MPC can not change pitch in real time." You seem to have some sort of comprehension problem. It's ok though, I won't make fun of you about it. What I did say though time and time again is that it takes longer to any "real time" changes of pitch on the fly on the MPC whereas on Maschine, you don't need to go to any mode, you just do it.
Askia Shaheed wrote:This is as easy or easier to do on the MPC.

Maybe it's as easy to you but how is it easier on the MPC?
Askia Shaheed wrote:You say you can't use the real time pitch shift on incoming audio and re-sample? Damn..I do this everyday. I guess I have that uber-JJ OS then.

Which version of JJ OS are you on? I'm talking about JJ OS 2 that I had on my 1k. Here's the OS 2 real-time pitch shift documentation: http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/os2/extra.htm
You'll notice that it says "It cannot record.
Moreover, it cannot be used simultaneously with other tracks.
It cannot be used simultaneously with "Input thru".
When "Input thru" is set to ON, "Input thru" is turned OFF automatically."
But if you got that super secret uber-JJ OS that only you have a copy of that can do this, why not share it with the other poor souls struggling with the inferior JJ OS?
