You guys have some f*cked up perception off the underground... .
Kid, you've got a fvcked up perception of sampling KICKS,,, fvcking kicks man.......
Underground is the reason this sh*t is still hear
LMAO.... Withou t mainstream sales, there wouldn't even be Hiphop ALL OVER THE DAMM WORLD..... Kids on the other side of the world wouldn't be into Hiphop because of UNDERGROUND exposure.... ITS MAINSTREAM EXPOSURE THAT GOT HIPHOP TO OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD IN THE FIRST PLACE.....
Hip-hop was seen as a fad that would die out
Thats when it was still mainly underground and was barely starting to get mainstream exposure... You're a damm fool if you think it got worldwide exposure from underground...IT WAS THE MAINSTREAM.....Hate or love it... It was the mainstream...
If it weren't for the true hip-hop heads of the old school when it was all underground it would have never lasted...
LMAO.... There weren't even "True Hiphop heads of the old school".. You know why?? Because they all accepted each other....Either you were Hiphop or you weren't.......There wasn't any of this "real Hiphop" or "underground Hiphop in the 80s... It was all love for one another....You're 18 kid....I was already making pause tapes when you were barely born.....I was already rocking MC Shy D "Shake It", Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh "The Show", You were in pampers still when I first got my NWA and the Posse tape.......
If you're makin music from the ehart people are gonna sense that and pick up on it...
Do you have ADD or something?? How in the hell are people gonna "sense" someone using a kick or snare from a current record??? Even if they did, the general public which is the people who support the entire music industry, DON'T CARE....... They want to be entertained plain and simple....
That's cause the industry's set up that way
No, some people just simply don't care for that sound... the exact same way you ain't feeling the Lil Jons of the world....This is why you are a f@g elitist, because you can't stand something that SOMEONE else listens too.... Why are you so concerned with what OTHER people listen too?? I bet you would be mad if all the "commercial heads" suddenly went over to "the underground"....
It has to do with Lil Jon makin wack music... No Substance to it and no words... No Rhymes...
Why is it "wack", because YOU say so??lol....obviously someone likes it.....and why does Hiphop have to always be about 'substance"?? Was that ADD kicking up when you were in school?? you want substance, pick up a good book...I can see you've NEVER been to a club..... For the people who want to have a good time, LIL JON IS SUBSTANCE.. because he's not crying about the worlds problems, he makes music to have a good time.....kinda like the uh , SUGAR HILL GANG!!!!!!
Most of the people in the underground had the opportunity to sign with a Major
Man, quit it with the fairy tales.... You're saying MOST??? Thats ALOT of people man....give a percentage.......I mean, do you honestly know how many people are trying to get signed??? To say most have had the opportunity is straight up BS.....
They turned it down cause they knew they'd have to become a gimmick like 90% of the mainstream is.
See, kids like you, make the underground a gimmick too... You have this set of rules, look at what this 12 pages is for..... SAMPLING A KICK FROM A CURRENT ALBUM.....LOL......
You's sound like idiots when you talk about the underground like you know a god damn thing..
Were you looking in the mirror when you typed this???
Go on your get rich quick style flavor b*tch...
lol, this kid's been hanging around with SK........
btw, I used to be in your position with this totally underground steez, but you know what, It's straight up wack.....You're limiting yourself if you say there is no good music on the radio....What can I expect from a whiteboy from the burbs though......He ain't really understanding.....
You know sh*t about hip-hop culture
Now tell me, what does an 18 year old white boy know about the minority struggle?? Thats what Hiphop was born out of, The struggle of Blacks and Latinos in NY..... How can you relate to the struggle of that????
yeah man, if madlib, or cats at like def jux had a chance to sign a big deal with distribution they would be on that **** ASAP. Why the *uck wouldnt you? its a chance to get ur music heard. I just think alot of the majors arent beatin down these dudes doors.
Age doesn't define your roots in hip-hop Boogie... Get your head straight..
And right now, Def Jux and MF Doom gets more play across the world than 50 Cent... It's a fact... Murs and all these cats do twelve month tours in Japan and Australia... Last time I checked 50 ain't been doin that too much...
You are right the mainstream spread it... That wasn't even my point... What I was sayin is that it was all underground at one point and without the following it had it would've never made it to the mainstream...
Also, you said there were no "true hip-hop heads" you either were hip-hop or you weren't... You do realize the contradiction in that statement correct...
And to Bing... Most of these dudes have had or currently do have offers from Majors... Is that so hard to believe...
Company Flow is the number one selling underground album and Jedi Mind Tricks "Violent By Design" is the second highest selling underground album... Violent by Design was all done in Stoupe's bedroom and pressed independently...
You don't think a Major would wanna tap into those sales and make money off of that... Bullsh*t... A lot of underground heads have gotten offers and turned them down...
Madlib said it in an interview with Roy Ayers... He actually makes more money pressing up his sh*t on an underground label and he gets to make the music he wants... So why would he go with any of the major labels that offered him deals...
