Sup MPC Gurus. I just copped my MPC2000xl MCD like a month ago and I'm kinda frustrated at my progress with learning the machine. I'm balancing college and my piano lessons so I don't have too much time in my hands. I was just curious about how long does it take to MASTER the MPC? I really want to get to the point where I feel like the MPC is simply an extension of my brain. Feel me? Help me out bros.

if you are fluent on any other mpc, I would say one evening or so

if you never used an mpc but you are fluent on similar other things such as a roland MV or you have a good chunk of experience on a DAW... maybe a week or so depending on how long it takes to learn the mpc lingo

if you have never used any music gear like this and this is your first production piece of gear... man, I would say a couple of months or if you are determined maybe a couple of weeks?

The shit is straight forward. One piece of serious advice is to push open window on every possible parameter because 90% of the time there are extra options or you can adjust things with greater detail.

Good points. I would like to add.
It takes longer to learn the natural swing and bounce if an mpc. Piano and mpc are worlds apart. Like jay -z said, you can pay for school but you cant buy class. You can learn functions and and equiptment and all the tricks. If you have no rythim or natural internal pendalum it will take a longtime to ride the mpc how you want to. Good luck.
