Just wondered your thoughts on buying used mpc's because i'm thinking of upgrading

Its probably just my bad luck but i've bought 2 used mpc's now and both caused me trouble!
First I bought a 2000 as my first mpc, when it arrived the pads were pretty abused but being new to mpc's i just got on with it and worked around the broken ones.
I cut my losses and sold this as spares after about 6 months and bought a used 1000, which i didn't want to get stitched up on again so i went to check it out before i bought it and it worked perfect.
After about 3 months the pads started playing up and gradually got worse till now a year later only 3 are touch sensitive and 2 pretty much don't work at all.
I'm fed up of having to work around pads so think its time to change.

I'm looking to buy either a 2500 or 5000 but both are quite expensive new and i can't now sell my 1000 to make up some of the cash, so not sure whether to go all out and buy new with a warranty or take a gamble at another used one..

What would you?

why dont you replace the pad sensors in the 1000? and why not make sure you have the new pads on the 1000 and not the old defective pads the original 1000 came with.....

I think you should change the pads with 1000. It is not more expensive and also you can work properly with it because it is not damaged and any problem in it but it only used so this is the best idea for get pad. The 2000 or 2500 are the more expensive for pad and 1000 is the best price for you.

sorry if i've got this wrong but its starting to confuse me searching for pads..

all the replacement ones i can find say they only fit models with the upgrade kit, the only ones i can find to fit are replacement single ones (link below) so if i replaced them with these will it just happen again?
http://www.mpcstuff.com/in-stock--mpc10 ... -in-s.html

If i bought 16 of them then i would need to buy 16 sensors or would they have them already on?
Just because 16 pads and 16 sensors ($9 from vst) delivered to the uk is $335/£215 which makes me tempted to buy a new one instead

thanks for the answers its appreciated

you can also choose your colors.

Cheers buddy
Was looking at these but reading through the forum i got the impression they would be out of stock for months, thats why i was trying an alternative, got an email reply from them today though saying sometime in january they'll be back in stock.

Guess I'll have to buy a late christmas present for myself!
