Not having a dongle at this point is sensless, bottomline people arent paying for things if they dont have to, honestly if pt 9 didnt need a key i would be pm'ing HF or surfing the pirate bay
last time I checked I was only successful at tracking a working mac version of PT9... that was several (maybe 6) months ago. I am confident that a windows version is now available though I have not checked. I have a version of nuendo that requires a dongle to be used and I have a dongle emulator and crack that works for that. I am confident a dongle emulator will be available for the new reason, just how the old reason versions required the orkster cd apon installation which back in the 2.0 era was tough to get past when the required tools at the time were not so well known.
Fact is, these things dont do anything against piracy 99% of the time, but 100% of the time they effect the purchaser of the product. These are the politics and business models I was eluding to that people who are supporters of open source projects often dislike. I didn't at all mean that reason would be better off being open source and didn't mean to sound as if I thought it should be. However one thing to get passed is the fact that people often confuse the definition of open source to meaning nothing more then "free" which is not the case... it means a whole lot more then that and it takes a different type of project model and development workflow to even build something that way. Look at linux builds as a primary example.
again, I understand why companies are doing DRM and things of that nature but I dont always agree with it. It's like if the evian CEO contaminated the entire evian water supply just to deter thieves from stealing any bottles.
