Yeah it helped merv drop one of the hottest beats I've heard from him.....
When I have a block, I usually watch beat documentaries, unplug my setup, re-arrange all the gear, and start from scratch by only sampling like 3 second one shots off of 2 random vinyls untill i've combed through the whole album once or twice, for some reason that works every time for me. Then again I havent released anything made since summer 2010, everything I post here or for mixtapes (excluding battles) is years old, cause I'm i a style block, I've shelve all beats and keep exploring my creative styles trying to be different. Because of this I have fun. Don't look for loops or samples go look for sounds that are 1-3 seconds and just mess with them, kinda like a challenge, once you start messing around you'll flare up again and find yourself right back to normal digging for full samples. Right now it just sounds like you're forcing it, which I think we all do after to long without breaks, it becomes more routine than creative.....
here you should already know what to do with this, just for exercise
