hi there
this is my first post, and im here to become part of the mpc-community.
im now about ten years into diggin some music and ive got a huge cd collection as well as i have a big records collection at my crib. now i wanna get productive with it and try my first steps with some hip hop beats and electronic stuff (low-fi, downbeat, dubstep etc..). my first thought was of course the mpc, as my favourite beatmakers use one in their lab. i want something to bang around and i prever hardware as well.
i dont really have a clue of the mpc so far, i know what it is and i know what you can do with but cant tell the specifics.
what i do have at home is: a good imac, loudspeakers, reference-headphones, turntables (4000 MK), CD-Player, Stereo-Amplifier, a midi-interface and im really ready to get into an mpc and study...
my idea is, to know the mpc really good, and then when i be at a good level, get me some other hardware (keyboard, synth, etc...) and software for it.
now my question is: wich mpc should i get? im able to get the 2500 SE (Full Option) or the 5000 (Full Option) at a very cheap price here in switzerland.
wich one should i choose (to my musical references)?
wich one is easier to handle at first?
what are the ons and pros for the ones?
and what else do i have to take care of it when it comes down to the mpc...?
thanks for your input and help for my first steps.
guess i have to apologize for my bad english
greetings from zurich
