I can't get sync my mpc to battery with the midi. I'm newbe with that machine, so I need some help.

Is there any software more that I can use with the mpc1000? (not recording software).

Thanks!

are you using Battery as stand alone or plugin version?

Sorry, but how are you gonna do that without recording software? The standalone version doesn't have an option to set up the sync. I'm assuming you mean proper MIDI sync with MIDI clock or MTC. A DAW host program with Battery as VST, would let you sync the 2, with either the DAW or the MPC as the master.

Let us know more about your setup, MIDI cables etc. What you want to do is pretty easy to setup.

If you haven't already set up Battery's pads to match the MPC pads here's a Battery blank kit file.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=84M0CNPD

It will work perfectly if your MPC is set up with pad A1 as MIDI note #36. This is a blank Battery kit with the 64 cells broken down to 4 colored rows which will respond to the bank switches on your MPC. It will do you no good with the preset kits (they vary wildly in cell arrangement), but for your own samples and custom use of the individual Battery cells into kits it's very handy.

Lol.

A lot of newbies think that 'syncing' means connecting via midi.

They do not realise that you need two sequencers to 'sync' their timing together.

I think dude simply want to trigger the Battery cells with his MPC pads - that is not syncing it's midi routing.

theres no such thing as a "dummy question", wer all here to learn fam... apart from the ones that are more concerned with their narrow minded negative skew on the world, try not being so bitter and do something productive.......

you got first part right that we're all here to learn..but instead of being lazy why not hitting up online pdf manual for both and learning the difference yourself ? cuz right off the bat you would know battery is a sound module only and not a sequncer ???being relatively new to mpc is no excuse for not knowing shit about machine you own but dont use or dont care to learn...so why worry about what battery can do that mpc 1000 cant, if you dont even know what your mpc 1000 can do

and you seem to get the last part right...try not being lazy and do something productive...for instance learn your mpc so you know what you got...then you can learn another piece of equipment hardware or software so you not asking obvious questions...then you wont be bitter when you get a response like this to qestion you could have answered yourself if you only took some time out your busy day to learn what the fuk you got isntead of making sorry ass excuses...

i dont even want to use battery with my mpc.. where did you get the idea that i did? and even more so dont know how to use my machine? i saw this thread and was just simply asking "what does battery have that the mpc doesnt?" because i wanted to feed my curiosity. i think your reading too deep into things................. nevermind.... theres that narrow mindedness again. its all good man, i should have anticipated such a response.

i will now cease from posting in this thread as i (and you) are clearly hijacking it, i will show a sign of respect for the original poster and let sleeping dogs lie.

PEACE

your question was what can battery do that mpc 1000 cant...not what battery has that mpc 1000 doesnt....

you expect somebody to prepare a run down list of features for both battery and mpc1000 for you or something ???

when you can easly look up features for both online ??

like you know how to come and ask this question here but dont know how to use google search engine or something...

that's some lazy shit straight up

battery wont sync with your mpc for a reason battery does not have a sequencer so there is nothing to sync...as for getting battery sounds triggered using mpc...you gotta make sure you got it setup right in battery and mpc...basic midi implementation

what DAW are you using? and is your mpc synced up with it? (im not talking about battery vst here, im talking about the software sequencer you use)

Will you two just e-kiss and make up, there is no need for handbags at dawn here.

If you enter 'battery' into the search this forum field you can find out all about it's pro's and con's by reading some older threads about Battery 3 which is quite old now.

Please remember this is someone elses thread so that is the only issue in question here.

Sorry for taking long to answer..

I wanted to use my MPC like a "midi keyboard" because before I had low RAM memory so I couldn't load so many sounds.
That's why I wanted to use the mpc + battery, to play my beats in the MPC while I record them to a sequencer, like FL Studio, or Logic Pro.

My mpc has 2 cables from Stereo Out to Line Inputs in my external audio card (It's a Toneport UX1 from Line 6) and a midi to usb connected to a computer for the sync.

Maybe now I don't need to use that with battery because I've got my RAM for 13€ in Ebay so my plan now is make beats with MPC and record them with Logic Pro and get the mix and master with Mac.
That's a good idea?

Sorry again for my bad english and thanks everyone for the help!!

there is really no right or wrong way of doing things as long as you can do what you want to accomplish..
