resample your sequenced drum loop is a tasty gem. once i recorded the room just playing a drum loop out the spkrs using a dynamic mic, band passed, then layered it behind the existing beat. made a nice shadow effect and sounded dope when the main beat drops out to the shadow. i got to do that again

I kinda use a sampler like a DAW when I make beats. If a sampler is 16 poly then to me, thats 16 tracks. I'll have like 5 or 6 pads of drum breaks and one shots and make them work with a main sample and build a composition. Then I resample it and made my own break to flip and chop. I do this because I like listening to my music.
