??
I know...There's a lot more to the MPC 4000 besides its 24/96 capability. I wouldn't even compare that to another MPC. The 4k is the truth.
Such as?
I won't talk about sound, because sound is subjective.
Some of the things I like about the 4k
1.I could hook a USB Hub to it where I can have a external hard drive for backing up files and a USB keyboard to type file names.
2. Can create Multis. I could pull up a song I did a year ago and don't have to worry about remembering which programs were assigned to which track. All I have to do is load the Multi I created for it and loads all the sounds and settings of the sequence.
3. Could autoload hundreds of sounds without putting a dent in the MP's access memory.
4. Could run old school sounds from vinyl through its deep modulation matrix and have the 4k emulate a vintage synth.
5.Could create ill bass lines from almost anything with the 6 pole filter.
6.Could change the whole dynamic of a Sequence with the the Q Link seq edit option. Could emulate a speed fade and everything.
I could go on and on. 4k is the real deal. That's just my opinion though. It fits my work flow perfectly and to me the sound is flawless. The 2500 with JJ OS XL is ill too I made hundreds of sick beats with it.
