The MPC represents Hip Hop. In no shape form or fashion, I am not a endorser of Akai. This is my thoughts and experience with the MPC. I used the MPC when it first came out and witnessed it blossomed into this. Some may have jumped on board around the 3000,2000,1000,or 2500.I can't count how many times I had one and sold it. I remember selling D-Dot my MPC 60 when he was Howard because I loved my SP1200 more. But what kept me coming back to the MPC was how tight the sequencer was.People say that it has a swing like no other but it's how tight the sequencer records that people love. I got into software early 10 years ago and missed the tightness of the sequencer that most DAWS don't offer.I bought Maschine in hopes to get that tightness of a sequencer that the MPC had and was dissappointed and sold Maschine.I love working in software but maschine sequencer was buggy to me but yet FL studio sequence was tight as Maschine. But after going from software back to MPC I felt limited because instead of chopping a sample into 40 or 80 pieces in software effortlessly, I was going back to the 16 or 32 chop cycle of hardware which is not how i chop.I had my thoughts set on the 5000 mths ago because of its chopping ability but the new MPC just threw a monkey wrench into that.I also know that Akai hasn't played fair with customers like when the 5000 was demoed at NAAM when it was released they had dudes doing techno beats for the demo which your brand was built on Hip Hop.(no disrespect to other music). But to get to the point this MPC represents Akai's cement footprint inside the computer along side or above the Gurus,Batterys, Maschines, and kontakts. Think about it,No more tracking out, pluggins on everything, the same sequencer but in software and not much of a learning curve. This is what most ex MPC users who converted to software have been waiting for.As for Maschine,N.I will have problems because they offered the only integrated hardware software setup which we jump on because it was the only one out that was somewhat MPCish. But know we have this coming which should change the whole playing field and expose Maschine for it's flaws that many will come to see when the new MPC is here.Just my 2 cents and yes the MPC is used for all forms of music not just Hip Hop.
