Recording into MPC via DAW/Audio Interface

You may or not have tried this approach with your recording phase:

Turntable to DJ Mixer
DJ Mixer to Audio Interface/Sound card
Audio Interface/Sound card to MPC stereo in

The possible benefits of this is a more accurate recording with the aid of PPM or VU meters, better pre amps (depending what interface you have), recording at higher bit and sample rates, etc etc etc

I'm currently monitoring signal simultaneously in Pro Tools 10 (session is 24-bit/96K) and the MPC record window.

Thoughts?

Dude, the MPC can sample anything from its 1/4" inputs just as long a signal is being passed.

Because the 'meters' on the MPC don't provide enough basic information.
Don't worry, I'm just having a whinge bcoz i'm transitioning from computer to MPC.

yea was thinking the same thing, aren't you losing signal strength by having something between the vinyl and mp? just a thought since you're going analogue to digital to digital, then digital again when going to record. you would have the same controls once you track

we use mpc's and vinyl because of the sound/feel/warmth/soul. leave it as pure as possible
