Hmm... How do I use it.
I started out with the ASQ10 a LONG time before I obtained an MPC3000.
So... in the first instance it was.
ASQ10 > ENSONIQ KMX16 ( MIDI ROUTER PATCH BAY ).
ENSONIQ KMX16 > LOT OF STUFF.
Now... it often ends up as.
MPC3000
OUT A > STUFF
OUT B > STUFF
OUT C > STUFF
OUT D > STUFF
SMPTE OUT MPC3000 > ASQ10 SMPTE IN.
ASQ10
OUT A > STUFF
OUT B > STUFF
OUT C > STUFF
OUT D > STUFF
I just load the same sequences on both machines and route things around as I need.
Or ...
Some times I will use it to drive different sequences when performing live.
That way I can easily cross between two different performances.
Or ... I can easily write stuff live on one machine ( in the booth/on the stage ) while the other is playing...
Or ... quite often the ASQ10 will end up being the lighting controller to take the excess sysex garbage load away from the MPC.
No fixed way to using the two but believe me ... it can easily be done.
Another MPC3000 would be better in all the above regards but hey ... can't have everything.
That is all I can think of at the moment as I've never given too much thought to "how" I use the two together...
