I think to get the gist of this conversation, you have to go back to the original post, and a few after that.

Am I right in thinking that you cannot record multiple instruments onto multiple tracks through your "proper" audio interface (e.g. RME Fireface 800) whilst the Akai Ren is sequencing all these instruments with it's 4 midi outs?
You would need to use two separate computers, lol?

All in all its a crazy topic that needs to be addressed, and it need to be addressed by the developers, forum members can try and speculate, but in reality their just giving their opinion on the matter.

It's crazy to speculate what a product doesn't have when it's not available yet.

From what Akai has released so far, the MPC Ren doesn't have audio tracks (MPC 5000 is the only MPC with hard disk audio tracks).

There are legacy MPCs that support recording multi tracks at one time. But there is very few reasons that a user would need to do that. Giving us a real-world application of the use for recording multi MIDI tracks at one time would significantly add to this conversation.

yeah but I know Akai is crawling all over this shit, and if they aren't, they aren't a good company. I will bet 2 copies of Lord Finesse's Funky Technician, signed by the **** in man, that if Akai puts out the product as the way it is right now, they will seriously only get about 33% of their market.

Honestly, I practiced Economy/Business at Stanford after high school, and what they're doing is neglecting and under-handing the customers. Hipster fags might buy the hype, but all the real heads know that this shit is a slap to the face.

My MPC 2000 is doing MORE than what the Renaissance claims to do right now inside my DAW. It is standalone, and I can use it in Midi mode for Battery 3 and have the best of both worlds. 1997 technology can do everything this Renaissance can do, AND be standalone.

And **** their superficial vintage mode. Real audio engineers don't need that shit, we got EQ's and Compressors. And I'm being harsh because I want this product to be an Akai MPC, not a hollow midi controller that lights up like my wife when I hit the clit. Get your shit together Akai, and make a grown man product, not this **** babby gizmo underhand childs play.

I also studied Economics. But I didn't have to go to college to learn that Economist never agree.

You have no idea what the MPC Ren does exactly and you are here stating Akai will only get 33% of their market. Where did you come up with that number anyway? I believe Akai is looking way beyond what you can currently see.

You can say it in as many threads as you like until you convince yourself....but as it stands right now, you don't believe your own words. Otherwise you wouldn't be here trying so hard to convince others.

The standalone MPC is realizing the same fate as standalone digital audio workstations. Today its Pro Tool, Cubase, Logic, DP...not Roland VS2480, Yamaha AW4416, etc. The hardware cunterparts are superior in terms of stability/sync but not as powerful as software-based DAWs. Its a similar situation when you compare the MPC Ren to an MPC 2000. The MPC 5000 is the last product of its kind from any company. Pick up one of those as I suspect its the only hardware sampler that will come in some time.

As far as audio engineers? MPCs are not purchased by engineers. Its a producer's tool. The vintage mode emulates the sounds of legacy MPCs. It is no different than the numerous software companies producing emulations of classic analog gear. Its an option that you don't have to turn on.

How will you route your sound?

It's set in stone now. The Stereo outs (anaolg or digital) of the MPC Ren, my keyboards, and MPC 2000XL will be routed to my Apollo interface. The individuals outs of my Apollo will be routed to the inputs of any device that I plan to sample with...at the moment it will just be the MPC Ren, ASR-10, and perhaps the Fantom G. I will connect my Studio Monitors directly to the Apollo.

The Apollo will be connect to my iMac via Firewire. Later this Summer, I will buy a Thunderbolt expansion for the Apollo and a Thunderbolt equipped Mac as well.

The one thing I am going to love with this set-up is that I can insert UAD effects into the signal path of incoming audio prior to sampling....having wet dreams now...dirty vinyl, insert Neve plugins, sampled using an ASR-10. :)

That was a general assumption that most hardcore MPC heads won't buy the Renaissance without it being standalone compatible. Which most producers that I ask agreed with.

And the rest of your post was nonsense as you truly did not understand that I was on the side you were trying to defend.
