I was doing research on the MPC 4000 for about 9 months. I read all these posts about how hard it was and complicated. Then I got a Akai Z4. Once I read the manual i realized it is really efficient. Then I got a great deal on the MPC4000..once I read the manual I realized that all the reading I had done and you tube video watching made me understand more than I realized.
Truth is the MPC4000 is not not explained well. It is very easy to understand and not complicated at all. The makers should have explained Multi's, Parts , and Programs better and then explained the sequencer in relation to tracks.
The MPC 4000 truly is a swiss army knife. I think I may make a you tube video explaining it better than I have seen.
Peace
Ian

When I look back at moving from a 2kxl to 4k, it is easier than people think.

Yeah....moved from a 1000 to the 4k and was comfortable in a few weeks. I never got frustrated, it just took a while to learn where everything was. Just hit ''Window" a lot and you can eventually figure everything out

2 Drunkenbear, you really should move your gear away from above that radiator.

@ DJ Illustrious, that's a great pic!

@ sirparksalot, open window is a MUST when trying to dig deep into different menus and windows on all mpc's, yep. I remember several people didn't know they had to open window on 2kxl's mixer to figure out it is possible to route effects via the 8outs.

Getting put in "time out" in the corner is no big deal to you is it, lol.

A glass of chardonnay, a date for the evening and your set.

Dope I like the ambience of it all. I have a simular set-up in my bedroom, sometimes I give the studio a break.
