Driver for Quattro does not offer output level adjustment, that's why you see don't volume slider. I use with my mixer (Portastudio!) for volume control, so I don't really need it.
If you want to select active channels, under "System Preference", but in case you haven't downloaded the driver, you have to download it first:

. Make sure there is no other USB devices connected on the same bus. My MacBook Pro has two USB ports, but they are both on the same bus so I disconnect other USB device when I record with Quattro. I think mouse and keyboard are OK, but remove external hard drives, for instance, on USB port.
