you don't need to sand....trust me, I was probably the first on here to do it.....my MPC looks fine......I put one coat of primer, one coat of paint, one coat of gloss.....AZ has about 3 color schemes if I'm not mistaken......

thats what i did. just use some real fiine sandpaper. it will make the primer adhere better. u can do without it, but i think its worth it.

Use a 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper. You can sand it wet or dry, wet will keep the sandpaper from clogging with paint. Afer you sand the unit wipe it dry. wipe the surface of the MPC with lacquer thinner. That will remove any oils from your fingers (oils will keep the paint from sticking properly). Then apply the primer. For best results let the primer dry over night. Next day lightly sand the primer wet with 400 grit sanpaper. wipe with laquer thinner and then finaly paint.

I used to paint cars so I know what I am talkin about. If you follow those steps you will have a paint job that will last and look great.

1 final thing use light coats of paint. If you put it on too heavy it will run and look uneven.

Good Luck,
Adrian
