i have a zip disk that wont work anymore. when i put it in my scsi zip drive it'll just click. anyone ever have this happen? if so is there any way to recover my files?
this happened to my os disk but it was a floppy. turned out that i needed to redownload the os. dont know what the os had to do with anything but the disk was aight. not sure though...
maybe there's a corrupt file on your disk and when it tries to read it it gets stuck? i unno
mpc3000, that's like a death sentence. i'm praying to God that's not the problem. it just sounds like it wont boot up. my other zips (of course the ones that don't have the midi files i need) work just fine. i was wondering if i could send it to a data recovery place and spend money i don't have to get my files back.
I can take a look at the disks for you. I am the only person anywhere that specializes in data recovery for Akai disks.
My estimates are free and Zip jobs usually run about $20-30. A data recovery house (that is not even familar with Akai formats) charge $150-200 just to evaluate disks.
