He's releasing a larger screen for both MPCs, with a free OS installed that is a massive upgrade on the current free JJOS. That's the product he's offering on his site. For anyone using the current free OS, this is a very big, exciting deal.
As for the 'paid' OS128XL - this premium OS is JJ's department, it's an optional extra he's choosing to offer. Clearly there is more optimizing to be done on that, so I guess you guys will have to wait to see what JJ can do with it before you decide whether or not to pay for it.
All in all, this is a very very positive thing to happen to the MPC community, but the JJOS XL power users will have to accept that they are in an incredibly small niche and may have to wait it out to see if JJ can conjure up a like-for-like large screen paid OS for them.

But it's the same as using the current screen so nothing is gained.
